It is the source for individuals and companies seeking culturally relevant health information that is comprehensive, reliable, and easy to understand. As a company created by women of color, OurHealth strives to provide products, services, and programs that appeal to women in a voice and format that resonates and motivates.

The demographic information collected from our members helps OurHealth completely understand the makeup of our membership base. With this information OurHealth becomes better informed to your needs. Your information is not sold to a third party and is kept in the strictest of confidence.
Becoming a member of www.ourhealthourlives.com is an easy process that requests users share information such as name (only first name required), email address, and birth date (if you haven't already registered or are unfamiliar with the site, the registration box will is conveniently located at the top right hand corner, underneath the Login options). Becoming a member of OurHealth assists in the creation of an interactive health wellness community. Once you become a member, you can customize our content offerings based on what appeals to you most as well as update your user profile. Membership also provides us with an opportunity to contact you via e-mail, alerting you of special events, promotions and etc. And, if you forget your username and password, we will be able e-mail them to you quickly.

What about changes to the policy?

Do you retain the information for the Invite Friends function?
We appreciate the assistance of our members in spreading the word about OurHealth to others. When you invite friends and notify them about www.ourhealthourlives.com, we will ask you for your friend's name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the Website. We store this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.

Where does OurHealth get the health information provided on the site?
The OurHealth Writing Team is currently comprised of the founders of the company, Erika-Evans Weaver, Nicole Farmer, MD, and Karen Cherfils. There are no contributing writers or editors at this time.
Topics for the articles are chosen by the OurHealth Writing Team and sponsors nor advertisers have any role over editorial content.
We search through the same news feeds that news organizations use in order to find subjects and topics that are relevant to the health interests and needs of women of color.
When possible, we read the actual scientific articles that generate the news stories. We also look at related news stories or go to independent resource sites to gather additional information. This way, we, as trained health professionals, are able to turn actual scientific data and health information into news that you can use.
At times we use segments of articles from popular news agencies. We make sure to adhere to the guidelines of use for these sites. At the end of an adapted article there is always credit given in the byline and a link to the entire original article.

How is OurHealthOurLives.com Funded?
The website is funded by the founders and private equity funding from personal investors. No funding occurs from organizations, grants, or other companies, such as pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies.
